About
Nigerian multidisciplinary artistEmeka Ilechukwu works across sculpture, painting and metalsmithing, exploring the social, cultural and environmental realities of life around him.
He graduated with distinction in 1997, earning a Higher National Diploma in Sculpture from the Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu.
Working in wood, metal, mixed media and paint, he brings traditional materials such as African teak into conversation with acrylic, metal and relief.
His work engages with life’s dualities: the real and the virtual, past and present, hope and struggle. Memories, social realities and emotional experience become vivid visual narratives.
Ilechukwu has exhibited in solo shows, salons and group exhibitions in Nigeria and internationally. His works are held in private and public collections around the world.
